Relevant Experience

Neurocognitive Aging and Analytics Research Education (NAARE)

Program Fellow Fullerton, CA & Los Angeles, CA 01/2024 - 08/2024

  • Worked on 2 research projects related to neurodegeneration. The first involved building inferential models to discover the most important predictors when predicting a response of Alzheimer's diagnosis, as well as building predictive models - including neural networks and random forests - in order to predict Alzheimer's diagnosis from demographic and neuroimaging data with a high degree of accuracy. Our paper was published in the California State University, Fullerton school journal: Dimensions.

  • The second project involved building additional R squared models in order to identify variables that explained the most variance in predicting perivascular space volume as well as in predicting other markers of neurodegeneration, as well as building mediation models to figure out the mechanism by which these variables predicted neurodegeneration. I am currently working on a paper with USC faculty regarding this work.

Socal Data Science

Program Fellow Irvine, CA 06/2023 - 08/2023

  • This summer program had me detecting rat activity from brain scan data in a group of 5 undergraduate students. We also worked closely with a UCI Ph.D student and UCI/CSUF faculty

  • Implemented statistical research focused on neuroscience, studying links between rat hippocampus activity and memory.

  • Constructed an academic paper to assist research study efforts.

  • Participated with a research team to develop statistical models for projects.

  • Utilized Python and RStudio to conduct statistical research.
Met specific confidentiality requirements for all research, data, and projects.
